About Us

What is Memory Makers?

Memory Makers provides engaging activities for adults who are living in the early to middle stages of memory loss. Memory Makers is a program of Day Respite Services of Oxford, a nonprofit organization that is overseen by a volunteer board of directors.

The program provides a safe and welcoming environment for participants to spend a few hours per day, while their caregivers have free time to take care of themselves. Based on a social model, structured daily activities include exercise, crafts, music, brain-stretching games, socialization, and other meaningful activities.

We also house a caregiver resource center, full of helpful information to assist caregivers with education, support groups, and other supportive resources.

How Does Memory Makers Work?

Who Can Participate?

Any adult who is experiencing memory loss but is still able to engage in social settings and group activities is ideal for Memory Makers. Before being approved for enrollment, potential participants are screened to determine if the program is appropriate for them. A doctor’s statement regarding general health, a tuberculosis test, and information from the family or caregiver is also required.
