Memory Makers is open Monday to Thursday from 10 AM to 2 PM. Participants can come one, two, three or four days per week.
Yes, there is a fee for participation. The cost varies depending on how many days per week a person participates. Program fees help fund supplies, staffing, and the cost of the facility. Fees are billed monthly. At times, thanks to generous benefactors, scholarships are available to help offset the costs for those who cannot afford the fees. If you need such assistance, please contact the executive director by calling 662-234-3332.
Yes, we conduct an assessment to ensure that the participant will benefit from coming to Memory Makers and that it is safe for him or her to do so. Information is obtained from family members, medical professionals, and others to help ensure that the participant is appropriate for our programming.
Participants gain so much from coming! The socialization keeps them busy and allows them to interact in a fun and safe environment. They enjoy being around people who are experiencing similar life changes, and they adore the student volunteers who help with exercise programs, crafts, and other activities. You will be surprised at the new dancing, singing, and crafting skills your loved one will discover!
Yes! Each morning begins with a light snack. Lunch includes a sandwich that each participant brings for him or herself, along with soup and dessert that are donated by community members.
Yes! We love visitors but it is most helpful for us to know you are coming ahead of time. Please call us at 662-234-3332 to arrange a visit.

Memory Makers programming is ideal for people who are in early to mid-stages of memory loss. Participants should be able to enjoy their time in the program and interact with other participants, staff, and volunteers while taking part in the activities. Participants should be physically independent and able to feed, toilet, and transfer themselves.
Memory Makers employs a full-time executive director and program director, who are responsible for overseeing each day’s activities. The staff work with community partners who provide entertainment and lead activities, as well as with volunteers who assist with various aspects of each day’s activities. All staff and volunteers are background screened.
There is no nurse and there are no professional caregivers on site.
No. At this time, there is no transportation available to or from the program. However, we are continually exploring partnerships with the city and other providers who might be able to provide this type of service.
